Cozy Up With These 5 Winter Style Trends
Here in the northern hemisphere, winter weather is well on its way — and we couldn’t be more excited! Getting dressed in the winter means lots of layers and lots of style opportunities. To celebrate, we’ve compiled a short list of some of our favorite winter style trends. Read ahead to pick up a few tips on how to style them for your own unique look.
Blanket Statement (Coats!)
This one is a major-win for the eco-fashionistas out there! Coats and jackets made from vintage jackets and quilts are trending in winter style this year. Pair yours with your favorite vintage jeans, dresses and boots!
Game, Set, Match
Matching sets are big this winter and for good reason: they’re the wardrobe staple that keeps on giving. Wear them together for a coordinated look or split them up for double the outfits! Pants sets are the usual, but matching short sets are a super stylish option that have been making a comeback. If you’re feeling chill to the thought of shorts as winter style, warm up to the idea by layering up with a pair of tights!
Frankly, My Shear(ling)…
Shearling-lined jackets are one of the easiest ways to translate your chic self to cozy-comfort. When it comes to styling, denim and suede shearling jackets work well with just about anything in your closet. Pair them with your favorite tee and a slim-cut pair of pants for a casual-cool look, or go all out with a color-coordinated ensemble and eye-catching booties!
Plaid to Be Here
From gingham to glen, tartan to tattersall, there’s no shortage of plaid prints to try. Depending on your winter style mood, dress them up or down with a statement coat and your freshest pair of kicks.
The Vest is Yet to Come!
Waistcoats for winter? We say yes! Vests are another retro trend making a huge comeback, just in time to incorporate them into your winter style. Layer them over a turtleneck, vintage button-down or even a plain white tee!
After you’ve saved these winter style trends to your inspo-board, try them out irl at Buffalo Exchange! We’ve got the best stock of vintage and current finds on any block, with new pieces arriving everyday. Have a closet cleanout you’d like to swap out for something new? We’re back to buying in-person! Book an appointment online to schedule an in-person selling appointment today. Your past fashion favorites could turn into store credit to spend on a cool new look the same day.
Book an Appointment to Sell Your Closet Cleanout!
Cleaning out your closet? Book an appointment to sell at your local Buffalo Exchange! We’re currently buying by in-person appointment and ask that you limit your cleanout to about 50 items and let it sit, untouched, for about 24 hours before bringing it in. We’re buying for spring and the best of all seasons. As the temps get warmer we’re in need of lighter weight jackets and sweaters, tees, blouses and button-ups, as well as great denim. Sneakers, cross-body bags and hats are definitely on our list as well. Don’t forget that we take jewelry and designer pieces like handbags, wallets and even sunglasses year-round!
