The East Village in Manhattan is full of exciting and enjoyable hotspots to spend New Year’s Eve! Here, at a local neighborhood restaurant, Nicoletta, we showcased some of our favorite trends to ring in 2016!

While in the thick of winter, we love to look ahead to the styles of (slightly) warmer days… We are already noticing runway-inspired spring trends popping up in outfits all over the city. Despite “spring” bringing to mind pastels and florals, we’ve seen designers put the emphasis on strong black-and-white looks. While there were a few floral prints, they seem more Asian-inspired cherry blossom than ditzy 90’s inspired florals of seasons passed. Pieces with daring cutouts, peekaboo sheers, and up-to-there slits were all over the runway and the streets of East Village! Polka dots have permeated, but sassy stripes are striking back. Full Story
Winter is in full swing in the East Village and we took to the streets to see what the stylish folks of New York are sporting in the chillier months. Function over fashion becomes more prevalent the colder it gets but New Yorkers find always find a way to incorporate their signature sartorial touches on even the most bitter of winter days. Though many opt for darker colors and black in the winter, we came across a few fashion forward people who preferred a brighter, more exciting color palette. We chose a few of these eye-catching ensembles to illustrate that not everyone in New York is afraid of color!

Buffalo Exchange in East Village decided to celebrate this year’s Fashion’s Night Out by helping our customers get decked out, DIY-style! They set up a studding station outside of their store, offering customers a variety of shapes, sizes and colors of metallic studs to add a little bling to something they had just purchased, or something they were already wearing. Wait, colors? YES! They spray painted studs to offer a little remix on the classic trend; Cobalt Blue, Mopey Mauve, Neon Green and the buzz color of Fall 2012: OXBLOOD! The addition of color to pyramid and dome studs was super cool. Some customers came with an idea of what they wanted, like a cross-shaped pattern of studs on a back pocket or a few tiny studs in the corner of a collar. Full Story
