Hello, Buffaloes! If you read my blog about how much I love plaid, you know that one of my favorite holidays is fast approaching: Thanksgiving! As a verified overthinker and certified procrastinator, I understand that coming up with a look for Halloween may have sent you into a tizzy and now you’re stressin’ about what to wear over the week of family reunions and friendsgivings ahead – fret not, because I am here to help. Naturally, as any secondhand fashionista would, I shopped at my neighborhood Buffalo Exchange and came up with five different Thanksgiving outfits that will work for almost any occasion. Couch surfing at your family’s home? Covered. Friendsgiving chic? Got it. Meeting you significant other’s ‘rents? Nailed it! Read ahead for tips and tricks to copy this Thanksgiving – it’s easy as pie!
Game On! Thanksgiving Outfits Made for Comfort
There’s nothing quite like going home for the holidays. If you’re staying with the ‘rents during the long weekend, it’s definitely tempting to traipse down the hall in the sweatpants you slept in for Thanksgiving dinner (no judgement – we’ve all been there). To combat the alluring draw of comfort-over-all, pair a velvet T-shirt dress with your favorite pair of sneakers and a fuzzy cardigan, topping off the look with a matching beret. With this outfit, you’ll look put-together for your family photos with all the comfort of being wrapped up burrito-style in bed.
If you’re like me, you’re the dramatic friend. You know, the one who visits once a year to regale everyone with tales of what it’s like to live in a moderately larger city with two large bags of luggage in tow (def more stuff than necessary for a four-day trip). For my fellow drama queens, this look is for you! After feasting with your family, fight the urge to take a nap and catch up with the hometown folks you didn’t see at dinner in an attention-grabbing leopard print romper and floral blazer! The pattern mixing works because of the neutral color palette and the leopard print totally hides the mashed potatoes you dribbled on yourself earlier. WIN-WIN!
Gather Around for Gathered Sleeves
Let’s be real: Thanksgiving dinner is really Thanksgiving lunch. If you’re one of the few people that can hold out until a proper dinner time, let’s say 6 o‘clock, then 1) I commend you and 2) This evening look is for you. Here, I layered a faux-corset that has contrast stitching over a hunter green T-shirt with gathered sleeves. I don’t know about you, but I’m still loving sleeve details with various ties, puffs and cuffs. A plaid accordion-pleat polishes off the look but leaves plenty of room for late-night seconds (or thirds). Definitely one of my favorite Thanksgiving outfits!
Hot Turkey Tamale
If you’re looking for one of those Thanksgiving outfits that’ll show your fellow dinner guests (many of whom you see just a few times a year) you’ve got it all figured out and WEREN’T totally thinking about sweatpants to dinner, a blazer and skirt combo is the way to go. Brown suede compliments the cheery holiday red top and the silver grommet fastening draws attention to your square-toed silver block heels. Who looks like they read the New York Times instead of just scrolling through Twitter? You do, girl!
Meet the Parents: Holiday Edition
Cuffing season is here! You made it through a summer of singledom, met someone special and now it’s time to meet their parents. As far as Thanksgiving outfits go, you’ll probably want to air on the side of caution and go with something classic (read: not a sequin jumpsuit). Make a great first impression in a vintage-inspired paisley dress with flutter sleeves and simple pumps. Compliment the high collar with your favorite good-luck charm necklace and top it off with a camel-colored beret. Whip up a side dish (or pick up a premade one – no judgement!) and you’ll be the best guest ever!
Feeling stuffed with inspiration for Thanksgiving outfits? If I can talk turkey with you, it’s time to run down to your local Buffalo Exchange and shop for your look! Whatever event you’ll be attending, I can guarantee that they’ve got just the thing you need. Thanks for reading and have a happy Thanksgiving!

Winter is coming. If you find yourself at a loss over what to wear to combat the dropping temperatures and increasingly gray days, fret not: Buffalo Exchange is here to help! During a trip to Buffalo Exchange Tucson, I styled four different outfits perfect for beating the winter style blues. Read ahead to see the looks I came up with, along with styling tips for replicating them in your own wardrobe!
Lattice in Wonderland
For my first winter style look, I went with a timeless duo-chromatic color palette. I paired this gridded jumpsuit with a white turtleneck, topping the look off with the jacket du jour – a cropped trucker with contrast stitching. This jacket is the perfect layering piece because it provides warmth without bulk. To take my coordination to the next level, I finished the look with a mod-inspired handbag that has the same vertical split as the jumpsuit!

Nowadays, there’s no shortage of pants for women – we’ve got skinny legs and wide legs, pleats and palazzos, cargo and disco – the list goes on and on! However, one of the most undersung styles is the capri. Also known as pedal pushers, these cropped pants are one of the many trends from the early 2000s making a major comeback this year. For everyone out there who may be hesitant to try this trend, we’ve got a few different ways to style capri pants!
Cargo and Capri Pants: A Love Story
For a sporty daytime look, we styled these khaki cargo capri pants (cargo is another trend to look out for this season!) with a printed crop top and illustrated coach’s jacket. Finish the outfit off with a pair of velvet loafers in a matching shade of royal blue for a look that’s casual but still perfectly put together.
That’s a Wrap: Tie Waists
If you’re new to mixing patterns, we suggest matching your main pieces with the same color – here, we mixed a striped pair of mustard and hunter green tie-waist capri pants with a polka-dotted wrap blouse in the same hunter green. Become a pattern mixing pro by topping off with a subtle snakeprint mule!
Power Clashing Capri Pants
Are you ready to take your capri pants to the next level? Plaid pants with a ruffled hem will do the trick! Go bold with an abstract cheetah print blouse and tortoise shell flats – the key is to keep your colors neutral and accessories minimal. This look isn’t busy – it means business!
Turn Up The Volume!
Capri pants come in all different shapes and drama is the name of the game with these culottes! A wide leg, simple pleat and rich cranberry color are exactly what you need for a fantastic cool-weather look. A long sleeve striped blouse with a smocked waist plays up the volume of the pant and a cheetah print ankle bootie balances the whole look.
Capri It Simple
Rounding out our capri countdown, we have a pair of cropped blue jeans! These jeans are sure to replace your go-to cuffed jeans, with an exciting asymmetrical fringed hemline. For a pop of color, a ‘70s botanical blouse pairs perfectly with maroon loafers and a timeless navy blazer.
As you can see, capri pants are an excellent option for staying stylish through the occasionally unpredictable temperatures of autumn when paired with smart layers and trendy footwear. Feeling inspired? Recreate these looks and find everything else you need for your fall wardrobe at your local Buffalo Exchange!
By Juan, Buffalo Outlet Nogales
Hello everyone! I’m Juan and I’m a cashier at the Buffalo Outlet in Nogales, Arizona. I believe that life is all about appreciating the past while embracing the present and looking forward to the future. And that’s especially true when it comes to fashion. Personally, I find that my style tends to gravitate towards decades fashion with a modern touch – and I seek inspiration from every era. Read ahead to see how I style my way through my favorite decades!
The 1920s through 1940s: A Time for Functionality
When we think of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, we often think of the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood and stars of the silver screen. On the other hand, function and practicality were the priorities for most people during this period and many fashions from the period reflect this: neutral colors and durable pieces made of denim, wool and leather were used in clothing meant to withstand the test of time. For my 1920s decades fashion look, I accessorized with popular pieces of the time like a newsboy cap and a messenger bag.

Hello all! For me, fall and winter are the best seasons of the year. They have the best holidays (Halloween and Thanksgiving!), basketball season starts up (Go Phoenix Suns!), it’s my birthday (November!) and the air cools down (you can walk outside here in Tucson without melting into a puddle)! To my last point, cooler weather brings so many new fashion options. I love to layer my clothing and there’s no better time to experiment with trends. This week, I paid a visit to Buffalo Exchange Tucson to search for plaid in its many forms: gingham, tartan and more! Read ahead to check out all the pieces I found and how I styled plaid three different ways.
For my first look, I experimented with a punk rock vibe and mixed two distinct patterns at once: Madras and Glen plaid. Named for its origin city of Madras, India (now Chennai), Madras plaid is recognized by its widely variable color combos and checkboard pattern – and this denim jacket does not fall short of that description! I paired it with a more subtle gray Glen Plaid (hailing from Scotland) and a mustard-yellow velvet mock neck.

At Buffalo Exchange, it’s not uncommon to hear about die-hard shoppers turning their love of the store into fashion careers! Today, we meet Cornell, who has worked as a Buyer at Buffalo Exchange Tempe since March 2017. We talk about his journey in the fashion industry and his personal style!
The Stuff Fashion Careers Are Made Of
Cornell’s enthusiasm for Buffalo started at a young age. In middle school, he “came to the realization that you could love fashion and make a career out of that passion.” Cornell couldn’t wait to apply and join the team at Buffalo Exchange Tempe.

First things first, I must confess that I love to shop. If you’re reading this blog, I’m willing to wager that you do, too. However, none of us likes spending hundreds of dollars on a wardrobe update, so that’s why I’m here – to guide you through updating your wardrobe for under $100! This past weekend, I went to Buffalo Exchange Tucson in search of a few versatile pieces to liven up my closet for the last weeks of summer. I also wanted to make sure I could incorporate these into my fall outfits when the weather gets cool. Read on to see what I found!
There’s nothing I love more than a coordinating set! I found a great deal on this two-piece. This set is breezy for summer, but I know it’ll look great with a cardigan and boots when the weather cools down. Because I came in under my budget for this item, I took the plunge and bought a saddle bag with colorful suede fringe as well. This is going to add some serious flair to all of my fall outfits!
