What creates the best summer wardrobe in your opinion? What are the essential items that you turn to every day and would wear every day if you thought no one was looking?
So, what if no one was looking at all? What would you wear? Summer is for making light of life. The solar system already gives us the light. Throw out those old rules and just enjoy! Let the light in on your closet – here are a few of my own ‘oldies but goodies’.
Saltwater Flats – who can resist shoes that your mom might have bought you when you were six? They are still around, and still the most adorable things for your feet. Close second – Birkenstocks. As a friend recently said, “I’m so glad my hippie side is back in style.”
Long flowy tank tops – not only do they hide any tummy or bum issues (imaginary I am sure), but they just evoke that carefree spirit of summer. Close second – an embroidered Mexican dress.
Denim – short or long, but nicely torn and aged is best. Of course, must wear with your Saltwater flats! Or, your Birks, either are a match made in heaven. You might even find yourself wearing a great flowy tank on top!
