Every day is summer in Southern California. But without the change of seasons, it is easy to let your wardrobe become casually monotonous. Here in Long Beach we are getting creative on where we seek fashion inspiration. The guys have been taking cues from everyone’s favorite burnout, Spicoli from Fast Times. Mixing dusty Hawaiian print shirts with fitted shorts, tailored chino’s, or raw denim has become every guy’s staple outfit on sunny days. When paired with a baseball cap and canvas hi-tops the Americana look has more of a boyish charm. Because plastic bags have been banned from our city (Hooray!), more guys have been spotted carrying Herschel style backpacks and military inspired messenger bags. The ladies this season aren’t afraid to show a little skin. They keep it classy and stylish by wearing cut-out tops with poppy maxi skirts or bodycon mini skirts with distressed denim jackets. This Spring look is allowing girls to feel both feminine and edgy when accessorized with bohemian jewelry and wide brimmed sun hats. I think it’s safe to say that Spring has never looked so good.
