1. Place your items on hold
Don’t be afraid to place items on hold. This is great for when window shopping turns into a full-blown shopping spree you weren’t quite prepared for. Sometimes we spot items we can’t live without but they’re just a bit over our price limit. So place your items on hold, go home and find items to trade for in-store credit so you can buy your holds without breaking the bank.
2. The best times to sell
If you’re trying to get in and out of the store quickly, you might want to avoid selling on Mondays and Wednesdays. These are prime selling days and you can often count on a line. However, even if you have to sell on one of these days, our buyers move quickly and the wait usually isn’t longer than 20-45 minutes at most.
3. The best days to shop
Sometimes, the best way to de-stress after a long day of work is to go shopping. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are great times to drop into your local Buffalo Exchange. Not only have sellers stocked the stores on Monday and Wednesday, but you’ll avoid weekend shoppers and have first pick at tons of inventory. Pro Tip: Shop the first week of every month for the biggest selection of sale items! We mark down a handful of items to 25% at the start of every month. Then, halfway through the month, we mark these down again to 50% off.
4. We’re open 360 days a year!
Buffalo Exchange only closes for Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. That’s a whole lot of shopping days!
5. Shop the register area
If you’re looking for high-end and designer items, most of our stores place these items in cases or on shelves by the register at the front of the store. Don’t forget to glance through when you walk in or as you’re about to make a purchase.
6. “I’ll take the display!”
Many stores do not sell the clothing on their displays, but that’s not the case for us. All of the outfits on our mannequins are for sale. Spot something you like? Simply ask an employee and they will gladly take it down for you.
7. Get a personal shopping experience
Our employees are here to help! Shopping can be a real hassle, so whether you’re aiming for a specific look or just need ideas, our employees are great stylists and ready to help.
8. What’s a yellow tag vs. a white tag?
You may have noticed two tag colors. Our white tags are for items purchased from customers, which make up a majority of our inventory. Yellow tags are for new items, which have been brought in by our new merchandise team just for you!
9. Shop the epic $1 sale!
Buffalo Exchange holds an annual Earth Day Dollar Sale, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting an environmental or animal charity! A large selection of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories are just a dollar a piece! This event is usually held outside the front of our stores or in the parking lot. Items tend to go very quickly, so we suggest getting there when we open and bringing friends.
10. Gift cards for all!
Did you know we offer gift cards? Our gift cards never expire and are a great for birthdays, holidays, thank you notes, etc. We also sell gift cards online. If you opt to have them emailed, they can be personalized with a special message.
