Rockmount was started by Jack A. Weil in 1946. He developed a distinctive look for cowboys and people living in the American West. He was the first to create western shirts with snaps and the first to commercially produce bolo ties. His philosophy was, “The West is not a place. It is a state of mind.” Rockmount continues to offer a special fashion statement for cowboys, cowgirls, and western enthusiasts.
When his son, Jack B., joined the family business he helped popularize the brand across the country. He developed their products to include shirts for men, women, and children, skirts, western hats, belts and buckles, and jewelry.
In the 80s, his son, Steve, joined Rockmount and expanded international sales. By the late 80s Steve had expanded the brand’s popularity to Asia and Europe. Nowadays, Steve continues to design for a western lifestyle, and reinterpret the classics. The Rockmount signature design with diamond snaps and sawtooth pockets is considered to be the longest production style shirt in America. Rockmount is one of the last predominantly U.S. made brands.
