What’s up, winter Buffaloes! During the last few weeks of December, it’s likely that you’ll receive a slew of invitations to holiday parties, kickbacks and soirees alike. It’s also likely that, after years of attending such engagements, you’re at a loss for something to wear that doesn’t make you feel like you’re living your own personal Groundhog Day – and all without breaking the bank. To combat this closet conundrum, I set out to Buffalo Exchange Tucson with one of my holiday wardrobe staples in hand (a navy blazer!) to style three holiday party looks. Keep reading for style secrets and plenty of sequins!
Sequins for a Soiree: A Casually Glam Holiday Party Look
For my first look, I wanted to create a holiday party outfit that looks put-together without feeling overthought. I found exactly what I was searching for with this fully sequined midi dress. Featuring a front vent and fluted hem, this dress is one-of-a-kind and certain to grab the attention of your fellow party-goers. With the addition of my boucle blazer and dove gray velvet mules, I brought a lot of texture into the mix, making this fabulous dress more relaxed. Wear this look to a family dinner or office fete; in this copper number, the world is your oyster, my pretty penny!
Gimme Glitter! How to Wear Head-to-Toe Sparkles
Just like glistening snowfall under twinkling lights, you want to shine at your holiday party. I get it. Maybe that description is a little heavy and you just really like sparkles. I get that, too! Whatever your motivation, this look is for you. If you want to wear head to toe glitter, I recommend complementary metallics like this pewter blouse and bronze pants duo. The muted glitter brings out the golden flecks in my blazer and the mixed-metal necklace ties the whole look together. This is the perfect holiday party outfit for happy hour and a night out on the town.
A Bright Idea
For my preferred mode of social gathering – a chill night-in with my nearest and dearest – I wanted to combine some of my favorite winter trends with major comfort. I paired my blazer with a leopard print T-shirt and a neon yellow accordion pleat maxi skirt. This look works because the navy blazer and cream leopard print both act as neutrals (yes, animal print can be neutral!) to anchor the super bright neon. To top off this holiday party look, I added white chunky sneakers with holographic panels and a matching belt. Now, I’m ready to hang with my friends and promptly fall asleep on the couch at 12:10am on New Year’s Day!
We’ve arrived to the end of the blog (and almost the end of the year)! Armed with just a blazer, I styled my way through three holiday party looks – and I hope I’ve encouraged you to do the same. To shine merry and bright in your own way this winter, stop into your local Buffalo Exchange for sequins, glitter and all the festive pieces that make dressing during the holidays so much fun. Happy Holidays from Buffalo Exchange!
