After an excruciatingly hot and humid summer, New Orleans fun seekers are ready to enjoy the cooler temperatures at Art For Art’s Sake, an annual event the first Saturday of every October. Magazine Street art galleries and shops stay open late and invite customers to enjoy the fall temperatures while shopping, looking at art, noshing on hors d’ oeuvres, and listening to live music.
The New Orleans Buffalo Exchange celebrated with an eclectic mix of music, food, and some after hours shopping. After having his CD release party at the store back in June, Lyriqs da Lyraciss, Stefan, and DJ Strategy came back for an encore performance and got the crowd going with new tracks and old favorites.
Buffalo buyer Kaci Thomassie was also out, hawking her accessories line Kaci Thomassie Designs, while New Movement Theater was informing the crowd about their hilarious comedy shows and improv classes.
Store manager Denise Lyons braved the chocolate mountain recipe from the latest issue of the fall/winter ‘zine which were a hit. Thanks to everyone who came out to support these burgeoning artists- we had a blast.
