By Aarian Frye, Buffalo Exchange HQ
Can you believe we’re already so far into 2018? It happened so fast, it feels like summer just started! If you’re hesitant to pack away your bright warm weather gear in favor of drab sweaters, don’t sweat it. We’ve compiled a list of the hottest trends you’ll see everywhere this fall! Color and patterns are here to stay, so read ahead for the fall trends you’ll want to shop for ASAP.
Fall Trends 101: Don’t Skip The Color!
As the leaves begin to turn from green to brown, you might think it’s time for your closet to do the same. While we have nothing against a great neutral, remember all the shades that come between! Vibrant yellows, oranges and even reds will give you your chloro-FILL of color this fall.
Going Out West
Howdy, y’all! Western wear is in full swing for this year’s fall trends. We’ve seen double denim rise to popularity in the last few years and its latest incarnation adds John Wayne-approved elements like cowboy boots, bandanas and leather fringe. Go the extra mile with an embroidered belt and turquoise studded belt buckle.
Animal Kingdom
If you’ve had your eye on the haute couture runways this year, it should be no surprise that animal print is one of this year’s most exciting fall trends. In years past, leopard print has been the animal print of choice. This year, we’re seeing the rise of more exotic prints, like tiger. However, the trend isn’t limited to prints inspire by our four legged friends – python is having a moment of its own!
Legendary Linen
As we transition from season to season, linen is an ideal fabric for staying cool in the last days of summer all while representing fall trends. On your next shopping excursion, look for linen in asymmetrical skirt hems, breezy separates and head-to-toe monochromatic ensembles.
Glad to be Plaid
Next up, we have plaid. From Herringbone to gingham, plaid is an incredibly versatile pattern with endless twills and color combinations. This fall, we’re seeing the return of Glen plaid, identifiable by its mix of both small and large checks, usually in khaki or gray. Effortlessly cool, the Glen plaid pant looks just as great with a matching jacket as with your favorite vintage band tee.
Let’s Go, Logo!
Allover logo print, dubbed ‘Logomania’ by fashion editors, has taken Instagram by storm. No matter what brand you’re rocking, Logomania is certainly one of the fall trends you’ll want to incorporate into your closet.
