It’s that time of year again … time for the second annual Dress-A-Day May! You might be asking yourself, “What in the world is Dress-A-Day May?” Well, it’s pretty simple—we wear a dress every day in May!
Dress-A-Day May isn’t about having to wear something different every single day. It’s about wearing what you have and making the most of your closet. It’s often said that people wear only a small portion of what’s actually in their closets. According to Ginny Snook Scott, the chief design officer of California Closets, only about 20% of the clothes in the average person’s closet are worn on a regular basis. If you’re only wearing 20% of your clothes, 80% is hanging sadly in your closet, gathering dust. Bring that 80% out to play!
The real philosophy behind Dress-A-Day May is this: if you love your clothes, wear your clothes! Don’t wait for some imaginary perfect occasion to wear something that makes you happy. Wear a pretty sundress to run errands. That dress you’re saving for a hot date? Throw it on and go out to dinner with
your friends (or find a hot date)! If you’re not so into dresses, pull out your most voluminous circle skirt, vintage rhinestone earrings, those sweet tuxedo pants you’ve never worn, or anything, anything at all that puts a smile on your face.
Join us and pledge that every day this month you’ll wear a dress or something that you love! (And if you live in Tucson, come visit us and tell us you’re participating. We just might have a little special something for you!)
