DIY: As Cute as a Button!

ButtonsIn search of an inexpensive way to add custom jewelry pieces to your collection?  Fabric button earrings are easy to make and so versatile –they easily add whimsy to any wardrobe.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Button Materials

  • cover button kit (they come in multiple sizes)
  • scissors
  • pliers
  • earring backs
  • fabric remnants
  • jewelry glue

Button MaterialsUse pliers to take out the back loop of the button

Button MaterialsButton MaterialsUsing the pattern on the back of the cover button kit, cut out your fabric pieces

Button MaterialsCenter fabric wrong side up on the white piece of the button maker

Button MaterialsPush button into button maker and fold fabric over button

Button MaterialsPlace back of button on top of fabric & use blue piece to push down. Then pop the finished button out of the mold.

Button MaterialsGlue earring backs to button

Button MaterialsLet dry for at least 8 hours.

And there you have it; a simple pair of studs to call your own.
