Buffalo Exchange Tucson
In honor of Earth Day, some Tucson Buffaloes banded together to fight Buffelgrass, an invasive plant species that’s taking over deserts and destroying native plants. Buffelgrass spreads rapidly in the desert, stealing water from native vegetation and creating a greater threat of wildfires. With the help of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and the Southern Arizona Buffelgrass Coordination Center, they took their skinny jeans (surprisingly good protection against spiky Chollas) from the street to the saguaros. Decked out in their most colorful sneakers and some cool cotton, they braved the sun to dig, sweat, and root out the invading plants.
This Earth Day, be sure to dig out your favorite North Face jacket and Nike sneakers (or pick some up at Buffalo Exchange!) and help save our planet!
