I love denim! It’s versatile, comfortable, and caters to many different trends and styles. It comes in many shades of blue, black, printed, patched, distressed, and colored! The list goes on… but I will stop here. For these few reasons, and many more, I wanted to spend one week sharing my appreciation for the great denim pieces I have collected over the years. Here’s to the American classic, 7 days of denim!
As a lover of denim I have been searching every Buffalo Exchange I visit over the last five years for special pieces on my list of “wants” that fit my everyday style. Two items on that list were a well-worn chore jacket and a pair of overalls that are both comfortable and resembled the trends of today.
The vintage Lee blanket lined chore jacket came to me four years ago while I was working at the Buffalo Exchange in Williamsburg (Brooklyn). I was ecstatic to finally find the perfectly worn in piece to add to my closet. Chore jackets have been a men’s workforce staple since the late 19th century. In recent years they have taken a new look and purpose with the men’s “heritage” trends. While these jackets are still a part of work uniforms they are also coveted by denim enthusiast across the world.
My GAP overalls came to me while working at the Buffalo Exchange in San Diego, CA (Pacific Beach location). These remind me of childhood and looking up to my sister’s fashion sense in the 90s. I was excited to add them to my rotation as the trend became prevalent over the last few years.
