By Buffalo Exchange Fullerton
Fullerton’s 40th Anniversary Tour day was hot, hot, hot (both literally—102 degrees to be exact— and figuratively)! The sun shined into our lush green and brick back alley, which made the tour trailer gleam and draw a crowd of eager shoppers, while we finished loading up our racks (racks, on racks, on racks) of colorful goodies.
Excited to explore our curated treasure trove, gleeful customers perused the plethora of tooled leather purses and dudes fawned over Pendleton pieces and pearl-snaps, while boogying to some funky tunes in the divinely air-conditioned vessel. Welcoming our beloved guests into our 1969 Airstream Land Yacht cultivated a genuine sense of community, like neighbors saying hello to one another as they passed by, or just stopping in to catch up. Meanwhile, customers inside were amazed and impressed that Buffalo Exchange has been around for so long! FORTY WHOLE YEARS (yes)! Customers lit up as they gazed upon our Kerstin and Spencer shrine, featuring an employee-made Buffalo head mount adorned with roses, and an antique adding machine. Shoppers were illuminated when they were told the story of how their cherished Buffalo came to be. All in all, the day was full of celebratory spirits and positive vibes. Customers and employees alike bonded over their rockin’ half-sleeve temporary tattoos, marveled over a certain jackalope muff, and perhaps even questioned its seemingly “mythical” existence, and just did some good ole fashion shoppin’! We said farewell to our tour masters, Rebecca and Tim, after exchanging many hugs and thanks. As the sun set on our delightful day, we watched the trailer drive off (the curb) and onto its next destination.
