Entertainment is Served
By Joe Carrel, Buffalo Exchange HQ
I’m not a foodie. Not even close. Most of my dining experiences involve the phrase, “I’ll have the #9.” So I was more than a bit skeptical when a friend recommended I try the Netflix series Chef’s Table. Once I began watching, however, that skepticism soon transformed into an appetite for more. How so? Let’s just say that this show, like all good recipes, contains a secret ingredient.

Recycling Mythbusters
By Joe Carrel, Buffalo Exchange HQ
Do you ever find yourself hesitating as you’re about to put something into the recycling bin? “Hmm, I think this supposed to go in here…” While we all want to recycle as much as we can, it can often be confusing. So let’s dispel some common myths and give ourselves fewer reasons for hesitation…
Meet Our Customer: Alfred Banks
By Buffalo Exchange New Orleans
Photography by Buffalo Exchange, @TampaPhotographer and @YaBoyDappa
Alfred Banks first started shopping at Buffalo Exchange New Orleans in 2007, when he was a freshman at Loyola University. Even then, I considered him one of our most stylish male customers. In the near-decade that he has been shopping with us, he has refined his style and moved on to become one of New Orleans’ rising stars in the rap community. He has worked with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Mikey Factz and G-Eazy. Over the years, he has performed many times at Buffalo Exchange for various parties that we have had including our 40th anniversary celebration, our 10 year anniversary party and most recently our grand re-opening celebration. Recently, Alfred was invited to Pamplona, Spain to film a European Volkswagen commercial. I spent some time with Alfred (as I often do when he comes in to shop) to ask him a few questions.

Composting Made Easy
By Sarah English and Joe Carrel, Buffalo Exchange HQ (with photos by Sarah and Stephanie Lew)
Hi! My name is Sarah English and I love Buffalo Exchange, because of their recycled earth-friendly atmosphere! I completed a degree in Horticulture and have worked in Buffalo Exchange’s Accounting & Payroll departments for the past five years. Though my job is pretty schedule-oriented, composting doesn’t have to be!
Meet Our Customer: Charise Cheney
Eugene regular, Charise Cheney, is always a fashion inspiration. African/ethnic prints are her go-to, and she describes her style as funky/urban and a little polished. She moved to Eugene from Ithaca, New York in 2009 to work as an ethnic studies professor for the University of Oregon. A new mom at the time, she struggled with her personal style during this new phase in her life. While exploring her new town, she wandered into Buffalo Exchange, where she found the inspiration she was looking for. Buffalo gave her a place to “play dress up,” and finding one-of-a-kind pieces helped her rediscover her style. Erykah Badu and Solange are huge inspirations for Charise; she loves the way they blend African and western aesthetics to create new genres. Some of Charise’s favorite Buffalo finds include a long, yellow printed vintage dress and a black oversized blazer with asymmetrical cutouts. Charise now has four children with her husband (who happens to be an acrobat!). We are happy to be a part of her journey, and can’t wait to see what she wears next!
