2014 Fashion Resolutions

BuffaloExchange

My fashion resolution is to “Keep It Country!” My extensive collection of cowboy boots is my pride and joy—the vast majority of them are gems from various Buffalo Exchange stores throughout the country. These boots add the perfect kick to so many outfits, country-themed or otherwise. Each pair lassoed me in with its unique design and next-level flair but looking ahead to 2014, my resolution is to lasso them! I resolve to fine-tune those cowboy boot selections before I’m buried in boots. I’ll bring in to my elite collection only those must-have, one-of-a-kind, best-of-the-West pieces that are the PERFECT fit (visually and literally) for clocking miles and miles on NY sidewalks year round. Yee-haw!

Juliet is a self-professed clothes-horse with a BONANZA of boots! Originally from Albuquerque, NM, she is the area assistant for the New York Buffalo Exchange stores. Juliet can be found wearing her vintage boots and many western-themed duds (purchased from Buffalo Exchange stores throughout the country) onstage, fronting her twangy Brooklyn-based vintage rock-and-roll band!

It is cold up in the Pacific Northwest and we are all about layers! We are seeing a lot of shoppers shaking it up with patterns and bright colors to make our gray days more fun. Also many shoppers are adding a vintage and more dapper flair to their outfits, think Donald Draper meets lumberjack. And Seattle just wouldn’t be Seattle without an awesome selection of Dr. Marten’s. We see them in all varieties, including these killer snakeskin kicks.

2014 Fashion Resolutions

Our New York locations searched within their closets for their 2014 resolution; putting a fashion twist on a New Year tradition!

BuffaloExchange

“I’ve always been somewhat of a treasure hunter. Over the years I’ve hoarded so many vintage treats that my closet has become a veritable retail store in and of itself. Interested in a threadbare kitschy T-shirt? I keep ‘em in my Pendleton tote. Perhaps you were curious about a vintage dress? You can sort through one of my trunks. Interested in some sterling silver, rhinestone clip-ons or turquoise rings? Let me show you my glass jewelry case. Suffice it to say, I have the kitschy, kooky and romantic well-represented in my closet. My fashion resolution is to tone down the fun (just a bit) and add in some well-made, classic basics. I want a cleaner palate to showcase the real special pieces. Top of my list: a white button down and blue jeans,” explained Emily McMaster, employee at Buffalo Exchange East Village.

Chanel in Dallas

By Buffalo Exchange Dallas

DSCN1965Even though we’re home to Neiman Marcus—the pinnacle of luxury—a high fashion city is not what many picture as Dallas. Instead of runways, it’s cowboy hats and long horns, big hair and pickup trucks, or the blue and silver logo of the Dallas Cowboys. Because of this, some were surprised that Dallas was chosen as the host of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art fashion show, an annual event that has taken place in select cities such as London, Tokyo and Shanghai. Each city has a link to the design house and inspired a theme for each collection, which highlighted the work of its artisans.

It’s getting cold here in Boston, which means flannels, heavy knits, wools and tweeds. It’s always the same girl; the new bohemian, the prim and proper, the school boy classic, the vintage throwback, the fashion blog devotee and the edgier witchy girl. But it’s something far more subtle than what we saw in summer and early fall; classic concepts with tweaked silhouettes, mixing patterns and textures, unexpected pops of color and touches of whimsy.

Holiday Dressing

By Buffalo Exchange SF (Haight)

BuffaloExchange

Once December hits so does Holiday sweater time here in SF! Whether it is for an “ugly” Holiday sweater party or just a great addition to a fun and funky wardrobe, they are a great piece for the holiday season. With the chill, many customers are trading in their light jackets and faux furs and great heavy vintage coats. For those attending evening outings here in the city, a great holiday dress is a must-have. We are loving dark colored knee length dresses as well as cute little numbers matched with shiny jewels and bright shoes for that extra punch of glam.

Style File: Costa Mesa

BuffaloExchange

After beating the November heat, fall is officially in full swing in Southern California! Moving away from spring floral prints and bright colors, girls update their wardrobe by incorporating dark floral accents, tailored army jackets, flowy sweaters and gold jewelry. Men, on the other hand, keep it simple with their “tried-and-true” look that includes a crisp button-up shirt, work-wear boots and opting for hued pants instead of denim. The look is consistent, classic and true from Breton stripes to boho-chic, there’s something for everyone here in Costa Mesa.
