Street Style: Ventura

Ventura StyleAs Ventura is approaching the end of summer, our local stylistas are not packing up their summer-wear just yet. With the beach just down the street, everyone seems to be wearing simple basics with a bit of a punch – the basics being: cool graphics, band tees, cut off denim, cropped tops, and beachy sandals. On the punch side of things we have: chambray blouses, stripes, muted florals, skulls/crosses, and more! Full Story

Kodachrome: Born free

Take a look at this amazing editorial styled by Buffalo Exchange Portland employee Samantha Lemieux. Photographer: Natasha Djuhandi

Portland StyleWe are the changemakers. Constantly growing and evolving with our surroundings, we never settle in for too long because we have too much to experience in this short life. Our possessions do not define us, yet they are an extension of our life story. Our biggest differentiation from other generations is our tireless need to discover, to question, and to never stop believing in our wildest dreams. We were all born free, some of us just dont know it yet.Full Story

Deck the Halls: New Orleans

Holiday SweaterEven though December is a long ways off that doesn’t mean the New Orleans Buffalo Exchange isn’t thinking about tacky Christmas sweaters already.  We’re decking the halls, or racks rather, with some real tinsel topped treats. Trade your former favorite in for something you’ll wear now, or get a jump start on Halloween with our sizable selection of spooky costumes. Either way, you’ll be glad you stopped by.Full Story

Street Style: Phoenix

Phoenix StyleMany places around the country are getting ready to bust out their cozy fall wardrobe while poor Phoenix is stuck with intense heat for another couple months.  Since there isn’t much we can do about lovely mother nature we make the best of it by wearing as little as possible while still looking appropriate (maybe) and cute!  Colored denim or chinos is where it’s at for men and women.  The ladies are pairing their fun colored bottoms with light weight chiffon on top and floral prints and men are sticking to easy solid tees and western button downs.  Bandeau bras are morphing into tops instead of undergarments being paired with long bottoms like a maxi skirt- so it’s just revealing enough.  As usual we see lots of ladies donning cotton summer dresses because they are cute, comfortable and easy to throw on in 110 degree weather. And last but not least TOMS!Full Story

Con ArtistThey say, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”  Well, at least con artists in TV and movies always seem to.  And I’ve been the proverbial sucker for their shtick since I watched “The Sting” as a kid.  So I thought it would be fun to write a piece about on-screen con artists. I’d start with a little blurb on why we’re predisposed for that type of fare and then deftly shift into some of the more clever examples of the genre.  Simple enough.  I decided to begin with the most recent entries and work my way back. Full Story
